We’ve all had those days, when the hours become longer than your child’s ballet recital. Whether it’s when you drag your butt in from a long weekend on a Monday or you are anxiously waiting for that 5pm bell on a Friday afternoon. While I can’t help you shorten your time (I am still waiting for a time machine to be built), I can give you some life hacks that can help you be a bit more productive during the day, that can help time fly by.
It always seems that when you keep yourself busy and productive during the day, the time goes by quicker and your closing time comes faster than you thought. So setting yourself up for a productive work station can help you get into the zone and get shit done. Read More
Today, my guest post on My Worst Advice is all about getting a job! I say this because as a recent graduate, and having landed myself somehow in two jobs, I have a thing or two to share about this! Please note before I begin my tale that I am not licensed to give any advice. I’m not a therapist, nor a professional job helper-getter. I am simply a 24 year old who has gotten herself two jobs. So, brace yourself kids because here we go!
Here’s my worst advice for finding a job:
• If you’re about to graduate college, start looking for jobs early! Chances are there won’t be a ton available, but it never hurts to make some phone calls and meet some faces. If you’re graduating in May, and you start looking for jobs in March, you may find that jobs are scarcer than wine after I go to Target! I give you this nugget from experience. I didn’t have a big person job after graduating college, I was a nanny for a couple months after graduation. This is okay as well, because a job is better than no job! Looking back, I wish I had started looking earlier. Do as I say, not as I do, children! Read More
A police officer found a perfect hiding place for watching for speeding motorists.
One day, the officer was amazed when everyone was under the speed limit, so he investigated and found the problem.
A 10 year old boy was standing on the side of the road with a huge hand-painted sign that said “RADAR TRAP AHEAD.”
A little more investigative work led the officer to the boy’s accomplice. He found another boy about 100 yards beyond the radar trap holding up a sign reading “TIPS,” with a bucket at his feet full of change!
Just goes to show you can always make a bad situation better with some business ideas in mind.
We have heard the phrase “actions speak louder than words” plenty of times, but that phrase like many other clichés are just part of our language storage and doesn’t usually get the full credit that they deserve. It wasn’t until recently when I was getting to know a coworker that this phrase began to really play into my view of people I interact with on a regular basis and those people that I meet.
It All Started When…
The conversation I was having with my coworker we were chatting about what high school we went to, what year we graduated, and our free-time interests. It was then the next question he asked that threw me off, he asked what my zodiac sign was. Now I’m not one to really follow zodiac signs or horoscopes, but I know there are many people that follow that religiously. Read More
I have been wanting to start a new workout regimen the last few weeks with the new season upon us with shorter days and colder temperatures.
The worst about starting a new workout regimen is just that, starting it. I finally just simply set my alarm clock for earlier in the morning to get up and hop on my bike in the morning. It was hard getting up almost an hour earlier but it was so worth it.
Some tips I’ve found that work when starting a new workout regimen and staying motivated enough to continue it are below. Feel free to share your own by commenting below. Read More
